SungShin Cement swings into the black in 2023

South Korea-based SungShin Cement reported a preliminary and unaudited revenue of KRW1.113trn (US$832,886) in 2023, up from KRW1.03trn in 2022. The company’s operating profit surged from KRW1.83bn in 2022 to KRW77.73bn in 2023 while net profit reached KRW65.75bn in 2023, a significant turnaround when compared with a loss of KRW26.47bn in 2022. SungShin operates the 11.3Mta Danyang integrated plant in Danyang-gun and the 0.5Mta Bugang grinding unit in Cheongwon-gun.

South Korean producers set to hike cement prices

South Korea’s nine cement producers have agreed to work with the Ministry of Environment to lower NO x emissions, according to The Korea Times. SungShin Cement posts 11% net profit rise

South Korea’s SungShin Cement has reported a full-year revenue of KRW714.64bn (US$590.2m) in 2019, 3.9 per cent up when compared with KRW688.07bn reported in 2018. However, operating profit fell 30.2 per cent YoY from KRW29.27bn  to KRW20.43bn in 2019. Net profit rose 11.4 per cent from KRW16.61bn to KRW18.5bn in 2019.

South Korea: Sungshin Cement back in the black in 2016

South Korean cement producer Sungshin Cement Co Ltd improved its revenues by 1.2 per cent to KRW686.6bn in 2016 from KRW678.7bn, according to the country’s Financial Supervisory Service. The company’s operating profit rose from KRW35.26bn to KRW36.83bn while in terms of net profit, the firm swung from a KRW33.99bn loss to a net profit of KRW12.4bn, according to preliminary and unaudited results.

South Korea: Sungshin shares down

South Korean company Sungshin Cement has been ranked in the bottom quartile of BSS News Bites South Korean performers for the past year. The company’s performance saw it placed 1519/1756 in the ranking, a percentile ranking of 13. Sungshin shares were also down 35.3 per cent for the year ended 27 June 2016. After climbing from KRW2920 (US$2.47) five years ago to KRW15,300 (US$12.95) one year ago, share price stood at KRW9900 (US$8.38) for this last year.
